ceTwit 2.1 incremental release

2009.01.06

horn-1-bigger.jpgceTwit has been updated with some additional error handling for empty responses back from the twitter API.  I have seen a few of these doing test posts and had some users report the same and it was causing a crash.  ceTwit for windows mobile professional has also been updated to better render the zoomed in view on square resolution devices such as the treo pro.

The build is available on the download page or via the in application upgrade process.  [download]

  2. Hey,
I’m trying cdTwit out, and it workes lovely when using twitter.
I tried to update through ping.fm however the update doesn’t get through.
“Status-> ping.fm -> Update” is supposed to send it to ping.fm and then on to … twitter… right?
I have tried to update the key but still no success.
Is it because i need to use the full key from ping.fm. I have only tried the short mobile key.

    Cheers

  4. Yes you need to use the full key not the mobile key, I did the integration before they had mobile keys

  5. I really like ceTwit, but I cannot figure out how to bring up older posts. Once I get to the bottom of the page, I don’t see any choice to go to the previous page, or see newer posts, for that matter, except to update. Am I missing something?

  6. I’m intending to store tweets from your last session but there currently isn’t a way to load older ones. I’m planning to add this eventually but am currently trying to work out the new OAuth mechanism with the twitter API first.

  7. Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your efforts on ceTwit. I rarely have issues with it and more often than not it’s a network/Twitter issue.

  8. Hi: I tried ceTwit this evening, and all seems well, except for one thing: I tried it at university over their wireless network, which is behind a Proxy server, which my phone is configured to use there. There was no difficulty reading tweets & following Skweezer links (great feature BTW), but I could not post Twitter updates. There were no errors, but the updates never appeared. TwitPic posting did work first time. I was able to update Twitter after I got home, using wireless with no proxy.
Phone: HTC S620 (QVGA Smartphone w/ keyboard), WM6.0 Standard
Apart from that one detail – I like it!

  9. Does ceTwit support ping.fm service triggers? I tried to limit a test status update to GTalk using the @gt trigger as a prefix, but the whole update, including the @gt showed up on all services. Maybe you’re escaping the @ sign and should not, or something like that?

HTC TyTN II, WM 6.1 Pro.

    Thanks, this is great work!

  10. @Demetri no it only supports sending through to your default setup. So whatever you have set as your default when you go to ping.fm and just type text and hit send is what ceTwit will also do. Thanks for the kind words.
